Sustainable Manufacturing of Cement
All of my stone products are made with some form of... stone. From the Plaster Wall Art to the Stone Candle Vessels, the earth is literally a part of its formation.
So what exactly is Concrete/Cement?
Bricklayer Joseph Aspdin of Leeds, England first made portland cement early in the 19th century by burning powdered limestone and clay in his kitchen stove. With this crude method, he laid the foundation for an industry that annually processes literally mountains of limestone, clay, cement rock, and other materials into a powder so fine it will pass through a sieve capable of holding water.
Sustainable Manufacturing of Cement
The Portland Cement Association (PCA) supports market-based policies and initiatives that enable the industry’s continued reduction of its carbon footprint in a responsible and sustainable manner.
As PCA members continue to drive down the carbon intensity of their operations and products, PCA will develop a roadmap by the end of 2021 to facilitate its member companies achieving carbon neutrality across the concrete value chain by 2050.
