Trays can be covered with an eco-friendly food grade (safe), NON TOXIC, water-based sealant, however this does add a bit of shine to the tray itself (wont be matte). I can add this sealant for you to ensure less stains occur, just send me a message or add a note when ordering.
As each tray is handmade, no two are exactly the same. Water rings or spots can occur from sitting water or soap. Concrete is a porous material. If trays are sealed, sitting water or soap can still penetrate the material and leave spots.
